I have posted before in this group and received the suggestion to
check out:

every step to try to resolve the problem of Outlook wanting me to
enter my password every time I open the program and then every few
minutes after that.

I've even tried uninstalling the entire Outlook program and
reinstalling, removing my email account and then adding it as a new
one. The problem does not seem to be with Gmail, my email account.

When I try to edit the registry to remove the information, there is
nothing under the Protected Storage System Provider key. My sign-on
information is not being saved, even though I check the box to save my
password every time.

How can I remove ALL settings for Outlook without losing my mail? I'm
not sure which *.pst to delete. This what I have:

~last~.sharing.xml.obi
archive.pst
extend.dat
Outlook.pst
Outlook.sharing.xml.obi
Outlook.xml.kfl
Personal Folders(1).pst

I hope someone can help me with this very annoying problem.

You don't want to deleete any .PST files, these hold your messages and we

Clear your password cacheTo clear your password cache, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click User Accounts.
3. If your user account is in the Administrator group, follow these
steps:
a. On the Advanced tab, click Manage Passwords.
b. Remove any .NET Passport-related entries.
c. Click Close, and then click OK.
If your user account is not a member of the Administrator group,
follow these steps:
a. Click Manage my network passwords.
b. Remove any Passport-related entries.
c. Click Close, and then close User Accounts.

Also, Outlook rebuild: Files a Rebuild will not fix:

An update to Outlook may fix it. And/Or a rebuild of your Outlook profile.

However, you would need to find ALL files that effect the view on your
system and replace them.

A simple reinstall will not clean these files up. Close Outlook first, then:

a.. Search your hard drive for *.ost and delete all found (Be sure to
search in hidden files)
b.. Search your hard drive for Outcmd.dat and delete it. (This file holds
your customized toolbar settings)
c.. Search your hard drive for Views.dat and delete it. (This file holds

What version of Internet Explorer do you use? Or do you
use something else?

Have you read "You have to enter credentials multiple times
when you use a 2007 Office application that takes advantage
of multiple network stacks:

I'm using the latest Internet Explorer 7. Windows XP, SP3 is
completely up-to-date and so is Outlook 2007.

I followed the instructions on the website below to edit the registry
but it didn't help. The enter password window pops up every time I
try to send or receive mail.

At this point, I would involve your PC/LAN admins. You probably
do not have enough rights to effect any changes. They may be able
to identify the problem for you.

Pat: Have you ever been able to fix the problem with the password?

I am having the same problem. it started when I swithed from Dial up to
Wildblue Sat service. I also have tried all the fixes outthere and none have
helped. I have windows vista,. Which includes windows mail. There is no
problem with the Password on Windows mail and I'm using the same email
account.
i perfer my Outlook, but it's a real pain having to enter the password
everytime.
