I use Outlook for contacts, calendar, tasks and notes. Not for email. I
need to move my data among four different PCs and it MUST be current and accurate on my PDA (iPaq 3715, PPC2002SE). What I'd like to do is keep my PDA current and just sync it (via ActiveSync 3.8) to update various instances of Outlook. When I get to an outdated Outlook I rename Outlook.pst, create a new (blank, empty) Outlook.pst file and do a sync. This works fine with ONE EXCEPTION. Outlook syncs all contacts, notes and tasks but ONLY SYNCS TWO MONTHS' OF PAST APPOINTMENTS. Why??? I turned off Auto-Archiving, I made sure that the Calendar Sync in ActiveSync is set to sync ALL appointments, but I still can't get Outlook to sync all my appointments, including ALL past appointments (I use these for reference records). I want Outlook to sync, store and show ALL my appointments, including all PAST appointments. How can I make this happen? WC |

Because that's what you told ActiveSync to do when you created the partnership. Open ActiveSync, click Options, select Calendar, click Settings, and select the "Synchronize all appointments" radio button. As I noted in my original post, I HAVE set the Calendar sync setting in ActiveSync to "Synchronize all appointments). I just confirmed once again that the ActiveSync calendar setting is STILL "all appts". Thanks for the suggestion anyway. And I posted to an Outlook NG because I can't find any settings in ActiveSync which could account for this behavior (having thoroughly examined every such setting and making changes that should cause ALL appts to sync). Therefore, I believe this is an OUTLOOK issue. |

You must create the new PST first, adding it to the profile, make it your delivery location, then rtemove the old PST from the profile. Anything else can corrupt the profile and lead to any number of anomalous behaviors. -- Brian Tillman |

Outlook has no native synching abilities - it derives all synchronization settings from the software that provides this ability.
Bottom line - not an Outlook issue. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
