I have Windows XP Home Edition on both my desktop PC and laptop. My desktop
is hard-wired to the internet and a wireless router. The laptop is free to roam around the house using a wireless connection. I have Office 2003 installed on my desktop only. How do I set up my computers/make a network so that when I check email with Outlook both computers show the same emails. For example, if I send an email from my laptop I'd like to see the sent email on both the desktop and laptop. Do I need two copies of Office? Or can I run just one copy but "share" it over the network between the desktop and laptop? |

Firstly, if you read the EULA of your copy of Office 2003 you will find that you can indeed install it on your laptop as well, as long as you do not use both copies simultaneously! ;-) secondly, MS does NOT support accessing pst files over a network. The simplest way to do this is to make a copy of your pst file, use that on the laptop as well. set each copy of outlook to keep copies of messages on the server. the only thing you then have to do is to make sure that you transfer sent messages from one machine to the other. |
