Default File type of Calendar and Contacts? How do I back them up?

Hi,

What is the file type of Outlook's Calendar and Contacts? I need to
save it before reformatting my computer.

Is it the Outlook.pst stored in the Local Settings/Application
Data/Outlook folder? Please let me know.

I had to make a repair install of Windows XP recently and now I can't
open Outlook without inserting an Outlook 2002 CD, which I seem to have
lost. I have my emails stored in my own PST file but I never thought of
backing up my Calendar and Contacts. I need to backup all my files
before I reformat and fix my PC. Please help.

Thanks,
Tina

Hi Vince,

Thanks for the reply. In my PST file, I manually dragged emails into
the PST's folder. There is no folder for Calendar and I never dragged
them in. I did not set the option to automatically transfer objects
into the PST. So I am sure the Calendar appointments aren't in my
PST.

Could you confirm that the Outlook.pst is the default file where
Outlook stores the Calendar and Contacts? If so, then I will be
assured that I have all my records backed up.

Thanks!
Tina

Typically yes but the file can really have any name with a PST extension.
