Default No e-mail notification

I have recently switched from using Outlook express to using Outlook 2003
for my e-mail. The problem is that lately I am getting no e-mail
notification at all, that is no sound, no envelope and no panel in the
bottom right of the screen, but the mail is being delivered. I haven't
changed any settings and all the boxes are still ticked in the, Options,
E-mail Options, Advanced E-mail Options. I tried uninstalling Outlook then
reinstalling and it worked for the first e-mail then stopped again.

Any help is appreciated as it's driving me nuts.

Tom

Hi Tom,

This problem may occur if you have rules set up to move e-mails to a
sub-folder of the Inbox on arrival, or your antivirus may also cause
this.

If you have a rule set up, you can edit this: tick/check a box to
display a desktop alert.

I have this enabled on my rules in Outlook 2003, and it works OK for
me.

Not sure about the antivirus solution, unless you disable email scans.

Regards,

Fred

Thanks for your reply Fred, I don't have any rules set up at the moment, I
suspected it could be the anti virus so I disabled it and it made no
difference, still the same problem. Not sure what else I could try.
