OE6 won't open *.eml files on HDD with WLMail installed
Win XP Pro SP3, Win Inst 4.5, OE6 x.5512, WLMail x.1606 MSI install,
non-virtual: Attempting to open an *.eml file on my HDD popped up WLMail instead of OE6. Since installing WLMail I'd given up on it and gone back to OE6. Hadn't opened anything "stored" until today. All defaults are set to OE6 now (Start, IE6 programs, file types). However, when I try to open an *.eml file by double-clicking it OE6's main window opens, not the file itself. And, in the File Menu the Open button is greyed out when the Outlook Express header in the folder tree is highlighted. Ever since programs "went Vista" things have been a mess. Look at McAfee's latest "forced RC push" of SiteAdvisor. Anyways, does anyone have some idea as to where else to start looking? Otherwise I'll go back to a previous image and to heck with it. If Hotmail goes, it goes. Scott :-|
