I am running an older computer on win98. When updating to IE6, an update to
OutlookExpress6 also occurred. (the previous version information is not visible anywhere, but was approximately 5 or possibly 4.x) This apparently cleared the mailboxes, which have since had an automatic send/receive occur when OEX6 was opened. Are the old mailboxes recoverable? The address book was kept, but this information was backed up elsewhere. |

Normally on upgrade, your old mail is automatically imported by Outlook
Express. Sometimes this fails and you need to do a manual import (File, Import). If you were previously using OE5, select OE6 as the import type since OE5 and OE6 use the same file formats. For more information, see: http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/how.htm#importOE4 http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/how.htm#importOE5 -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "baldbrenton" wrote in message news ![]() I am running an older computer on win98. Tools Options Maintenance Store folder will reveal the location of
your current Identity's store (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain). Write it down. If you had been running IE5: In Windows Explorer, search for .DBX files. Any found which are not located in your current store will most likely be those from your OE5 Identity. You can Import them using FileImportMessages... If you had been running IE4: In Explorer, search for .MBX and .IDX files. These are the old OE4 files. Follow these steps to import the data into OE6: http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/how.htm#importOE4. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org baldbrenton wrote: I am running an older computer on win98.
