Default Blank from and subject

Recently my Outlook Express has been downloading mail that has no
information as far as from and subject. These are blank. They are from a
friend and they have attatchments. I can recieve mail from him without
attatchments fine but as soon as he attatches a pdf or jpeg I get the blanks
in " FROM" and "SUBJECT" and scramled text in place of the attatchment. I can
go to my service provider and read the messages and open the attatchments,
but if I try to download them into Outlook Express they come in with blank
"from" and "subject" and scrambled text for the attatchment. The properties
of the mail say that it is a multi- part message in MIME format. It tells me
who it is from and the subject in there.

Any AV software scanning it?
Anti-spyware?

Is he perhaps using Lotus Notes for sending and you using SpamKiller?
Those 2 programs don't get along. SpamKiller can corrupt the MIME
headers of messages from Lotus Notes. In that case, you can read them
fine on the mail server, but SpamKiller screws them up as they download.
