Can somebody help me??
When I send an email, I get this error msg: The SMTP server returned an error. Subject 'TEST', Account: 'Jadeslane (e-wire)', Server: 'mail.e-wire.net.au', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC60 The message then remains in my Outbox, continually trying to send. Problem is each time it 'tries' it is actually being sent! So my recipient receives the email a dozen times! Why won't the message go into my Sent Items? And why am I getting the error message? PLEASE HELP ME |

This problem is often caused by having Email scanning turned on in your
Anti-Virus program. - turn tat function off, as it does no real good anyhow! -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2006, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.crashfixpc.com/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "daniekaj" wrote in message ... What's your AV? - with some, it's necessary to actually uninstall the email
scanning part (or preferably not install it in the first place) - AVG is a case in point. You might also want to check that your emailer is not using unnecessary proxy servers. -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2006, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.crashfixpc.com/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "daniekaj" wrote in message news ![]() I have this turned off already. Looks like part of the error message is missing.
You may be sending to more recipients than your mail server allows. Contact them and find out what the limit is. One of my accounts has a limit of 25. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE Please respond in Newsgroup only. It happens no matter how many people I send to.
I thought there should be something in the Server Response Field, but that is what it gives me - every time. I have also turned off my outgoing mail scanning, with no luck. Any other suggestions?? Have a look at the website below, unfortunately OE is not as tough as it
should be. Sounds like one of your system folders may be damaged, for example the sent items folder which is actually a file called sent items.dbx. http://www.insideoe.tomsterdam.com/ A bit of time spent reading this website will likely save you lots of time in the future. Create a user folder called say "Sent Items Archive" and move all your sent items into it if you need to keep them. Yes it's a pain but these things happen. Follow the instructions on the web site to delete sent items.dbx (with OE shut down) and let OE create a new one when it restarts. General advice is to create user folders and keep as little as possible in the default system folders, but Tom's website explains this all in greater detail. Charlie ..
