Thanks for the suggestions - but the result is still the same.

I can't connect to my account and I get the same error messages again & again.

Can I not just reinstall IE & OE or do I have to reinstall all of windows ?

I don't know if it will help any, but...............

How to Reinstall or Repair IE6 and OE6:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318378

Although written for WinXP, it works for all Windows operating systems 98 or
newer.

If you are using WinXP/SP2, and it was not already on your computer from the
factory, you will have to remove SP2 first.

How to remove SP2:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;875350

And then there is this:

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

Bruce,

Finally sorted.
This is what I did ...

Ran System File Checker again with my XP SP2 CD in using the command
SFC /scannow
Then rebooted.
Info from www.ask-leo.com

Then I refreshed my TCP/IP by running the command
netsh int ip reset c:log.txt
Then rebooted again.
Info from my ISP website www.ntlworld.com

Now everything works perfectly - for now that is !!

Thanks for taking the time to try and sort my problem out - hope my "cure"
helps someone else.
