Default Slight delay in opening JPEG photos

I'm using AVG Free, and it is indeed scanning incoming and
outgoing email. I don't know about .eml files. I temporarily disabled
that plugin, but it didn't change anything. I use OE daily, but never
back it up. I don't know how.

Reinstall AVG and choose Custom Mode. Uncheck E-mail Scanning when you
see that option.

Thanks. The above suggestion fixed the problem.

You're welcome. Glad it's working.
