I am hoping someone has run into this issue or has some suggestions on how
to resolve it. When going into Outlook 2000 I am unable to open any PST. that are located on my personal drive on the network under the \Outlook subdirectory. The message I receive when trying to open a pst in outlook is as follows: Unable to expand the folder. The set of folders could not be opened. The file U:\outlook\bill1.pst could not be accessed. The Operating System for the machine I am using is Windows XP The server, which the PST Folder resides is Windows 2003 Server Thank you Laurie |

Guv Bob,
The Office Outlook has more function than Outlook Express. If you will note the number of newsgroups devoted to different aspects of the program. If you are concerned with only e-mail. Either will do the job. But so will Thunderbird. I have used Office Outlook since Office 97. It's now very 'comfy.' Even Office Outlook 2007. "Guv Bob" wrote in message ink.net... Outlook Express is a simple Mail and News program.
Outlook is a Mail, Calendar, Scheduler, Task manager, etc. It works with an Exchange server allowing many people in an office environment to share messages, calendars, appointments, etc. but it doesn't do Newsgroups for some reason.
