This morning I CANNOT download any of my Yahoo Mail into my OE6 on my
computer. I get the message below. I have checked all settings, as are laid out in the help section. Can anyone help me get back to receiving my email through OE6, which I've been able to do up until this morning? Thanks in advance, Candy --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The server responded with an error. 1. Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection, it may be causing the problem, and even Symantec says it's not necessary: paste Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have the most recent virus definitions. /paste http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...02111812533106 Troubleshooting error messages that you receive when you are using OL and OE http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813514 2. If no joy and assuming it's a US- or CA-based Yahoo account and you've subscribed to Yahoo Mail Plus (or your ISP has an agreement with Yahoo to allow POP3 access to the account), please contact Yahoo Support. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) Candy wrote: This morning I CANNOT download any of my Yahoo Mail into my OE6 on my computer. The server is the one having the problem. Most likely it's a temporary
problem and will correct itself in time. Can you access your account via the Yahoo web site? It seems if I get an error via OE and then go to the Yahoo web site, I'll also get an error. But the web site error seems to kick start the sever and it recovers more quickly. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Candy" wrote in message ...
