Can someone please tell me the locations of the 'blocked senders list' and
the 'message rules' so that I can add them to the backup drive and not lose them on an XP reinstall. Thanks in advance. Rgds Roman |

1.. Close OE and then In Regedit, navigate to this key:
|--HKEY_CURRENT_USER |-----Identities |--------{GUID} |-----------Software |--------------Microsoft |-----------------Outlook Express |--------------------5.0 where GUID is the Global Unique IDentifier for your Identity. 2.. Under that key, you will find the following sub-keys, among others: |-----------------------Block Senders |-----------------------Rules You might find this to be a better way. Not sure that I understand -
when i get to the keys |-----------------------Block Senders |-----------------------Rules what should I do then?? I have a app called SyncBack which automatically backs up data as long as you have the source address and back up address. I have applied this to my Outlook Express identity which contains all my .dbx files where the back up is stored on another hard drive and the folder is labelled with the id name Please clarify further. Right click on each and Export. But the link I gave you for backing up and
cloning will make your life much simpler. Does SyncBack backup the identities in the registry? If it does, then that's all you need. Here are some other options. Backup & Resto http://www.insideoutlookexpress.com/backup/ http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx If you are transferring to another PC, and have access to a Windows XP setup CD, or if both computers are running Windows XP, see: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/...pten.mspx#EBAA -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Roman" wrote in message ... That's what i initially thought - but just needed that confirmation. I
have exported the 'Identities' key into a backup folder on C which using Syncback backs this folder up on the other back up drive. Thanks for the quick reply!
