I had to do a system restore today and the result was that the
messages in this and other newsgroups have apparently been reset to
showing ONLY messages from the past 5 days.
Clicking on msnews.microsoft.com , the news groups
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general and
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlooke xpress show a
total of 31034 and 7586messages respectively. However, the viewing
pane only shows 303 and 293 total messages each respectively. How
can I see all the messages? I posted a message on 11.11.06 but I
cannot see it now.

Do you have a rule to delete messages over 5 days old?

Do you use a view that only shows messages less than 5 days old?

Did you try to reset the problematic groups to retrieve all message
headers again?
