Default newsgroup messages with multiple parts

i have downloaded multiple parts from a news group and combined them to form
a large single attachment of about 205meg.
when i try to save the attachment, outlook express says that there is not
enough disc
space. but the free space on the hard drive is more than 75 gig.
virtual memory is 3 gig. memory space and hard drive space should not be an
issue.
oe6 will save attachments only if they are not more than 170meg.
why cn't i save the 205 meg attachment ?
help would be much appreciated.

Copy all the pieces to a local folder that is empty. Then go to File |
Folder | Compact. Then do the combine and decode from that folder.

Also compact the newsgroup folder, which is probably huge.

thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately oe6 still refuses to save the large
200 meg attachment.
but i did find a circuitous method.
I saved the message as an email with the embedded attachment, closed oe6
i then had to reboot as the computer was still very slow because of oe6
then i clicked on the email to open it, which took about 8 minutes, why so
slow?.
then i tried to do "save attachment as", but after about 30 minutes a
message came up indicating insufficient disc space (on a disc with 75 gig
free space this is just so wrong).
so tried another experiment, I did a left mous click on the attachment and
dragged it to a folder.
the computer ( a 3 gigahertz machine) slowed to a snails pace so i went away
and came back an hour later.
and there it was, the attachment was finally saved.
it took me 2 years to finall be able to do this, i wonder wat is the problem
with oe6?
I have routinely created video files in the gigabye range and have had
absolutely no issues indicating insufficient disc space.
has anybody else ever had trouble trying to save large email or news message
attachment of more than about 170 meg?
i'd really like to know.
maybe there is a problem with oe6?

Your message store may be corrupt.

Go to File | Identities and set up a new Identity. Then try it again. Also
make sure you see he www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
