Demand all you want old son. What about the courtesy of asking?

This is a predominantly an English speaking NewsGroup. I don't mind at all
Johnny Foreigner posting to this NG but surely he/she should have the common
sense to do it in English and save us having to delve back to our school
language lessons. I'm sure they have equivalent NGs in their own language.

Regards.

Demande in French means request not "demand".

And many people don't know where to start looking.

Steve Cochran wrote Demande in French means request not "demand". That
just underlines my point. Why should Johnny Foreigner (Virginie doesn't
suggest any particular gender) clog up the NewsGroup with messages I just
don't understand. If he can't talk to me in English on a predominantly
English speaking NewsGroup it's a waste. Surely there are French speaking
NewsGroups?

Regards.

Bill, yes their are groups for most languages.
I simply delete messages of this type, unless it looks to be a genuine call
for help? Then I would post a link to the appropriate language group.

Steve wrote their (sic) are groups for most languages So doesn't that
suggest that there is a better chance of getting a considered reply by
posting a message in the language of a particular NewsGroup?

Regards.

Yes, Bill you would think so - but there is no accounting for what the
French(most are French) will do.
Steve and one or two others very considerately move the posts to the correct
group.
I have followed these 'moves' and very few are picked up by the original
poster in their correct group, or back in the English group.
I dont think the posters know where they posted in the first place :-) :-).
I used to move them but I am afraid I do not bother any more.
I still communicate with one of the main 'advisors' in a French newsgroup -
he called them 'un con newbie'.
I just delete them now.
