Default how to REG update Root Store?

I gxxgled for over 2 weeks, now. I am trying to find a way to script the
Store Root.

I've tried REG.exe.
What is needed is to execute
REG update "hkcu\Identities\{032FHFD-7C2B-488A-AF5B-872898374419}
\software\microsoft\outlook express\5.0\Store Root"="\\myHomeBox\myShare"

I did a
REG query "hkcu\Identities\{032FHFD-7C2B-488A-AF5B-872898374419}
\software\microsoft\outlook express\5.0\Store Root"
and has updated it.
EXPAND_SZ Store Root \\myHomeBox\myShare

When I open OutlookExp, the changes wasn't there.

When I close OE, the changes reverted back to default.
C:\REG query "hkcu\Identities\{8602FD2F-7C2B-488A-AF5B-87876D484419}
\software\microsoft\outlook express\5.0\Store Root"
EXPAND_SZ Store Root %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application
Data\
Identities\{032FHFD-7C2B-488A-AF5B-872898374419}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

Secondly, OE has a mind of its own. If I update Store Root manually, it
works until the \\myHomeBox\myShare isn't available when I open OE at hotel.
Then, OE will default back to user's Doc and Set path

How can I change it so OE will accept the changes?
So, the first time I open OE after REG update, it will open the dbx in
\\myHomeBox\myShare.

Thanks.

Asked/Answered in WinXP General. Also asked in IE6 Browser. If you must make identical posts to multiple newsgroups, please cross-post one (1) message to all of them. Thank you.

You'll not get any better or different answers here than you got in WinXP General from Doug Knox and myself, d00d:

The "real technical answer" is that OE does not support network storage of
the messages and if you try it, it messes up the message store.
