"Michael Santovec" wrote in message ... Is this an IMAP account? Deleted Messages Remain in Folder Message List http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=178158 Although the article says it is for OE4, I believe it still applies to OE6. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Wayne" wrote in message news:i0nbg.44$Ar6.22@trnddc02... To the Group: OE continues to display subject line of deleted msgs in the Inbox until either OE is closed, then reopened -or- different folder is opened, then one goes back to the Inbox. Inbox msg count does change for unread msgs though (as if the msg was immediately gone, moved to the delete folder) Pls, what OE setting has taken place behind my back? Regards, Wayne |

I should also have asked if it's a HTTP (Hotmail/MSN) account.
If it's a POP3 account, I've never heard of that behavior. If you are marking messages as Read (not deleting them) and set the View, Current View to Hide Read Messages, you will see the behavior that you describe. The just read message don't hide until the view is refreshed. On the other hand, if either the folder you are trying to delete from (Inbox in your case) or the Deleted Items folder is corrupted, that can cause problems deleting messages. But, the messages won't ever delete in that case. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Wayne" wrote in message news:n7tbg.641$kR6.314@trnddc05... Bottom-Line ~ embarrassingly I say that I do not know what happened. Last
night I powered down (usually leave up for virus scan at night, also a Norton System Scan, etc.) Rebooted ~~ problem went away, is no longer! Wayne BTW, it is a POP3 account.
