Default outlook express settings help

I use outlook express to receive my e-mail I noticed that it looks
for a dialer. I use DSL service. How do you change the settings to use
the DSL and not a dialer.
I have a Dell with windows Xp home edition on it.
Thanks in advance.

Check it. Also put a check in Ask before switching dial up connections.
Make sure it took in IE's Internet Options under Connections as well.

Thanks.

Hi,
The settings are the same in both. Outlook express and explorer.
Anything else I can try?

Default outlook express settings help

In the Control Panel | Network Connections - Make sure the connection you
want to use is the only one there.

In Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Connection - Check your settings
there.

As Bruce pointed out above, remove the checkmark from "always connect
using"apply/ok, for each of your accounts, it will then use any available
connection.

But? Personally the following bit I would not do:

"In the Control Panel | Network Connections - Make sure the connection you
want to use is the only one there."

If ever your DSL is down then the dial up connection already there will come
in very handy? imho :-) Thoughts Bruce?

It seems like if I attach a file. The outlook express takes a very
long time.
But if its a text message without an attachment. It is very fast.
I hope this extra info. helps.
Thanks in advance.

Your first post said that when *receiving* it looked for a dial up
connection. Now you're asking about speed when sending?
