I am receiving "an error occurred loading the Secure Password Authentication
components" message when I try to send an email from my OE6. Receiving
emails is ok. No sending! Please help.

Default Loading SPA component error

Start by visiting Windows Updates and download at least all the *critical*
ones. Your running a very old version of MSOE.

Post back if the problems continue with the entire error message and the
name of your ISP. Are you sure you need SPA?

Default Loading SPA component error

Just a note ...

The only e-mail (to my knowledge) that uses SPA is MSN "Legacy" POP3 Mail.

Default Loading SPA component error

Bruce, this can't be true. This is newly purchased machine with the latest
XP installed. I also installed the latest critical updates from MS website.

Here is the version of OE :

6.00.2900.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)

I have no idea what SPA is needed for. It came up with the error all of a
sudden.

Any advice?

Note the reply from Kuay Tim. I would suggest contacting your ISP.

Are you posting from the problem machine now? Your headers indicate:
Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2096. That is not a fully
patched XP. If it was, your header would read: Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook
Express 6.00.2900.2670
