stop outlook from changing appointments when cross time zones?
Outlook 2003 on Windows XP and WinMo 6 standard on my phone. I travel often
between 2 timezones and don't use Exchange or anything else fancy. I've read some of these other posts from those who have real issues with this topic. I'm almost embarrased to say I just want a simple on/off switch so my overtaxed brain doesn't have to perform mental gymnastics. Stop changing your time zones. if you are syncing with a device that uses a
different time zone, both need to be on the computers time or or you'll need to stop syncing. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Unfortunately, there is no on/off switch. If you are changing zones, you'll
need to either stop changing the time zones or stop syncing when the computer and device are not using the same zone. When you make appointments, make them for the correct time in the correct zone - if you are in Eastern and making an appointment for 9 AM Central time, use the correct time (10 AM Eastern) - do not enter it as 9 AM because it will move to 8 AM when you change time zones. All day events will keep jumping between 1 and 2 days each time you change the time zone. Make them 1 day in the zone you use the most and learn to ignore them when they run from 11 to 11 or 1 to 1. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com.
