Default Outlook recurring series should allow changing future dates ONLY

When a person wants to change a recurring entry - Outlook only offers 2
choices - this occurence or the series. There needs to be another choice -
changing future dates only. If there is a change in the date or time of a
recurring entry for meetings beginning on a certain date, Outlook will now
replace all entries that are part of the series with this information.
Why would anyone want to replace their actual history of meetings with
inaccurate information? And if this was a scheduled meeting - imagine the
impact to others without their knowledge.
This is important for people that bill for their time, for auditing and for
Sarbanes-Oxley.

Default Outlook recurring series should allow changing future dates ONLY

If you are relying on recurring events for billing and compliance, you
really need to use individual events so you don't risk losing them - its
just too easy to have problems with recurrences. It's very easy to make the
pattern in Excel and import into outlook.

While I think this is a good idea, it would require a huge change in the
approach to how recurrences are handled on Outlook.

There are some ways that you can avoid changing the history, but it takes a
little work.

This is important for people that bill for their time, for auditing
and for Sarbanes-Oxley.

I, for one, think Outlook a poor tool for supplying audit data.

It doesn't matter how huge a change this is...reality is that other
calendaring tools have been allowing this for years - as is obvious when you
see how long people have been posting questions/issues about this.

Outlook is a business tool and it is crucial in this day and age that
business tools preserve the past. Like it or not, email is considered an
historical record and that includes your calendar.
