unable to find calendar

My husband hot-synced my ipac and now all calendar data for last year has
gone from pda and is not on outlook. I have archive on and have found archive
file but am unable to open it- i get the message windows needs to open with.
I've connected to internet to try to open file- but no luck. What am I not
doing?

Open Outlook and from within Outlook, open the Archive - File | Open |
Outlook Data File.
