It's a new PC thus it has on it what it came with, I've not installed any
other versions of Outlook on it yet. -- Thanks, Bill Post replies back to News Group |

I couldn't get it to work to gmail either. I'm guessing it's something with
recurring appointments or such that gmail doesn't support but I haven't taken the time to remove recurring and appointments with attachments to check. I've tried all the apps I know of to convert to vcal and ical and they all fail to make a file vista calendar can read. A converter wouldn't stop people from buying office - they still need the other programs. There are a large # of people using outlook only because they need a calendar and they will have a better experience with the lighter weight vista mail and calendar. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Willy" wrote in message ... I can't find the trial Outlook 2007 on it, but others there. I got 2003 on my tower PC, my primary use PC. I've tried to export to gmail as I saw one suggestion but the export is failing here just as status bar is about 1/4" from showing it's done then ask if I want to send error report to MS. Yes, MS needs to make a converter but that would stop people from buying Office 2007 I think. Does importing Outlook Express Email & all into Vista Windows Mail work okay? Any comments/suggestions regarding that aspect? -- Thanks, Bill Post replies back to News Group |

That was my guess to Diane, the recurring appts. of which I've a lot because
of the many doctor visits & all my wife & I have due to our health issues. But really I never got to try to import to gmail as it never made the file when using Export in Outlook 2003, it bombed, so I guess it was all the recurring apts. stopping it. I to only use Outlook for a calendar but unless a converter comes along soon, guess if I want to use Vista's calendar, I'll need to re-enter all the appts or move my Office 2003 to that PC. Appreciate all you've tried. Take care & have a good day. -- Thanks, Bill Post replies back to News Group |
