Not easily that I have found (yet). I expect we'll eventually have an easy
way...

Right now, it's one at a time...

Diane,
I was thinking that to. MS sure messed up on this aspect with Vista. Will
Office 2003 run in Vista? I've got it on old PC but can move it to new one
and use Outlook 2003.

Yes, Office 2003 will run just fine in Vista. And yes, they really messed up
on importing because vista's mail, calendar and contacts are exactly what
many current outlook users need.

Address magic, linked from http://www.slipstick.com/config/convaddr.htm,
works well to convert mail and contacts. They don't do calendar though. I'm
going to check on a few things this afternoon - so if you don't want to
install outlook, wait a few hours for me to check something out.

My idea didn't work. :( I totally forgot the vista calendar folder holds one
ics file, not individual items. My thought was to use forward as ics to
convert to ics files then drop them in the vista calendar folder - but they
need imported 1 at a time. This works if you just have a few to move, but is
not as easy if you have a lot to move. It can be done though and it's faster
than redoing the calendar items.

Unlike older versions, Outlook 2007 has the ability to create a single ics
file from all of your appointments, so it's simple to move between vista and
outlook calendars. If you have access to outlook 2007, open your pst with
2007 and choose the email calendar option, then save the ics (or send it to
your own email account) and either import it or just place it in the
calendar folder.

Diane, Thanks for trying. I've got Office 2007 Trial (60 day) on this new
PC but no Outlook included. Can a Outlook 2007 Trial be found then use it
as you stated?
Hopefully MS will fix Vista so it can import pst files from Outlook but
kinda doubt it don't you?

Outlook should be included in the trial. Do you also have Outlook 2003
installed?

What MS (or someone) needs to do is make a utility that will convert
appointments to 1 *.ics which vista calendar can use. I've tried several
that attempt it, but vista calendar doesn't like the resulting ics file.
Even if it requires you to export to CSV or xls first, as long as it works
it will be worth it.

I can't find the trial Outlook 2007 on it, but others there. I got 2003 on
my tower PC, my primary use PC.

I've tried to export to gmail as I saw one suggestion but the export is
failing here just as status bar is about 1/4" from showing it's done then
ask if I want to send error report to MS.

Yes, MS needs to make a converter but that would stop people from buying
Office 2007 I think.

Does importing Outlook Express Email & all into Vista Windows Mail work
okay? Any comments/suggestions regarding that aspect?

Outlook 2007 is available if you remove previous versions of Outlook. OE to Windows mail would need to be asked in a Windows Mail/Outlook Express news group.
