Default SETTING NEW APPOINTMENTS IN OUTLOOK CALENDAR

I HAVE WINDOWS XP
I USE TO BE ABLE TO CLICK ON THE DAY AND IT WOULD BRING UP A NEW APPOINTMENT
BOX...SAVE AND THAT'S IT.
SUDDENLY I CLICK AND NOTHING...IT WON'T EVEN LET ME SET A NEW APPOINTMENT
WITH THE MENU OPTIONS. IT DOESN'T GIVE ANY MESSAGES...JUST DOESN'T DO
ANYTHING
EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS FINE...NEW CONTACTS, NOTES....??????
