Default Deleting calendar items should ask "all past and future items"

I wanted to delete a series and had no idea that it would delete all of the
old appts as well. Thanks to the previous note, I knew to go to the trash and
pull it out. That's fine. So I tried the latest idea of simply adjusting the
end date. Seemed reasonable. However, in doing that it ERASED all of the
notes I had from the old appts. Again, an obscure warning about "exceptions",
but nothing about rewriting the old appts. This I cannot figure out how to
undo and probably can't undo. As it was a way of tracking a specific mtg and
proof of said mtgs, I am now out appx $250 since I have no validation that
certain mtgs did not take place - thanks to old individually deleted appts
being readded. I will go back to the reliable paper calendar. Thanks for the
wake up call.

I was disappointed to find that all my previously scheduled
appointments were also deleted when I deleted all future occurences
of an appointment. I only meant to delete the future occurences!
There isn't an UNDO function for this error but fortunately I have a
deferred DELETE from the recycle bin so I was able to restore the
item and painstakingly delte each and every future occurence of the
series. Wew! There should be a better way to accomplish this minor
task.

There is. If it's a recurring appointment, just put an end date on it.
