It sounds like the default pst is corrupt.
If he adds a new contact to that pst, does it work as expected?

If I copy the pst to my machine, or his machine, the contacts work fine.
If I
move the contacts to his "Outlook Today" the contacts go blank and the
file
is corrupted. This morning (Monday) everything I did for him Friday was
reset
and again his contacts were gone.

Start with cleanviews although I'm not sure it’s a views problem.
If you open the pst on your machine, its ok? if you copy them to a new
pst
and open that on his machine, is it ok?
