Default How do I activate automatic"unread email" folder? It disappeared

My Outlook used to put all unread email in an "unread email" folder. The
emails were in my "in box" as well, but the unread folder was convenient for
checking all mail, because it showed only those that were not yet opened.
One day it disappeared and I have not been able to find out how to get back
the folder or the functionality. The help menu is no help on this.

Shot in the dark: did you create a rule to move the mail items? Check Tools
| rules and alerts to see if there is a rule.

Then you can re-create the folder, and then modify the rule to point to the
new folder.

Depending on how your email server is set up, you may look in the deleted
items folder to see if the old folder accidentally got deleted. If so, you
can undelete it.

Lastly, and again depending on your server, you may be able to click tools \
recover deleted items in the deleted items folder to see if the old folder
can still be recovered.

Hope some of this helps,
