I thought my computer crashed. In fact, the fact is I had corrupted Window
files and the place I took my computer to be repaired, they had to restore my computer back to the point when I first purchased it (August 2008-Toshiba). Before they did a restore I asked them if they could try to find and copy my pst files (contacts is what I need the most but would like my calendar also). They were able to locate them before they did the restore. They copied them back on my computer but not in Office. I went to where they copied my files and did a copy and paste into the Outlook folder with success. However, when I opened Outlook I was unable to bring up any of my contacts. (When they did the restore they re-installed Outlook for me also.) My current contact file is emtpy. I thought that maybe I might have to restart my computer before Outlook would see my old pst files, but that didn't work either. Is there something else I should do so that I can open my contact file from the pst files I just copied? I hate being a royal paiin, but I have A LOT of contacts with a lot of information within the contacts. I made a hard copy of my contacts so I could retype them in. In my old contacts, when I created a contact, after entering the name, address and phone number, I also typed other information in the space to the right of the personal information, such as family members of the contact person and their birthdays, etc. ....Jan |
