Restore from Backup
Good Afternoon,
I'm hoping someone can advise me how to restore my contacts list (.pst). While cleaning up old folders in Outlook, I had a folder which "appeared" to be empty. Unfortunately, although there were "no" contacts directly in that folder, there were other folders within which do not show from the "view folders" panel. I deleted this "empty" folder and lost over 800 contacts which I need to recover. I have a backup of my .pst file but when I try to FileOpen Data Filexxx.pst, I get the error message "File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file E:\NewFolder\xxx.pst. This is my Outlook file but I don't know how to get permission to open it. Can you help? I am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (12.0.6316.5000) Part of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007. Can you help? |

Click that to expand the tree and drag the deleted folder back to the prior parent folder. Copy it from the CD on which it resides to your hard drive, taking care to not overwrite any existing PST. Remove the read-only attribute, then open it in Outlook with FileOpenOutlook Data File. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Restore from Backup
you can try a tool called Advanced Outlook Repair. You can download a
free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe . I think it is a useful repair tool for you. It is easy to recover your PST file by using its wizard. It is a powerful tool to recover messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or damaged Microsoft Outlook PST files. Detailed information about Advanced Outlook Repair can be found at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/ Wangdong |
