Learn the keyboard shortcuts - Alt+S to save and close (this also sends).
Ctrl+S and Esc will also do it.

Has Microsoft done anything about this problem?

When I open an Outlook contact, and I want to close it, I'm always afraid
I'll click on "Delete" instead of "Save and Close". They are immediately
contiguous.

In a future update, can you change the GUI so there is a space separating
these two buttons?

I think I've already lost one or two contacts this way.

Thank you.
