Default Using distribution lists for sorting rules

Hello. I wanted to ask what may be a ridiculous question. I've found in the
general help file, that there are two ways to use distro lists and rules.

A) Sent to distro list = Any message sent to the specified list is sorted to
the folder specified

B) Sent from people = Any message sent from persons within the specified
distro will be sorted to the folder specified.

However, method B is not working for me. I create a rule, for messages sent
from people, and specify several distros within my company, and the messages
don't sort. I've checked to make sure the senders are within the specified
distros, and they are. However, it seems that outlook is not comparing the
sender to the contents of the distro to sort it.

The reason I ask this question, is that I would rather like to sort by
distro, so that everyone in specific IT depts in my company are sorted to the
proper folders, without me having to change the rule every time someone is
moved in a department. But I create rules (EX Any mail sent from members of
the IT - Desktops team to go to IT Desktops folder) the messages that these
rules apply to sit in my inbox. The rule is active, and it works when I add
ALL the members of the distro individually. But this defeats the purpose of
the rule, as then, if someone moves from Desktops, to say, Network, then I
have to change the rule manually.

Any ideas???

Outlook does not have a choice in Rules to say "if from MEMBERS of this DL"
It says if "from the DL".

You'll need to use the people's individual details to make the rule.
