When I attempt to send mass emails through my contacts, Outlook sends the
message to the Business Fax number as well as, or instead of, the actual email address. Is there a way to stop this so that Outlook sends only to the email address?? |

State what method you are using.
Outlook is doing precisely what you told it to. This is end user error. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "massemail" wrote in message ... I open a new email and click on the "To:" button, which opens up my contacts
list. The list is adding business fax numbers under the "e-mail address" tab. How do I stop it from doing that so that I can send mass e-mails to only e-mail addresses? -This is with Outlook 2007 "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: State what method you are using. As I said, Outlook is doing exactly what you told it to. The To: button does
not "open your Contacts List (whatever that means)." It opens the Outlook Address Book view which contains every electronic address you have created in your Contacts Folders. Obviously, that includes any address to which you could send a message, including fax numbers and pagers. The address book view has always been a poor choice for recipient selection and you would never use the address book for this if you don't want to send to all your electronic addresses. If you want to send only to a subset of your addresses then use one of Outlook's well documented methods to create an appropriate subset: 1. Separate Contact Folders 2. Categories 3. Distribution Lists The Help files are your friend. Never be afraid to use them. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "massemail" wrote in message ... Open each contact in your Contacts folder with a FAX number and either remove that number or modify it so that Outlook can't tell it's a phone number. Some people prepend an "F" to the number. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
