Remove the area code from your WIndows dialing options configuration, then
reenter all of the phone numbers again.

Does your version of Windows let you enter a null dialing location? Mine
doesn't.

I know that in the past I've been able to either leave the area code blank
or configure the properties to not use the area code. I didn't check
recently if that was still possible. I do see that I can't remove an area
code once I add it to a dialing location, however.

windows/outlook hasn't allowed blank dialing settings in at least 2
versions.

I think I need Outlook to do this too, I can't seem to edit any phone numbers
or create new contacts with anything in the 'phone' fields, without it
generating all kinds of popups. I'm going to create a new threat about it.
