Outlook does not and cannot do this. Provide your evidence and a clearer
description of what you think is happening. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Erica" wrote in message ... All the email addresses are automatically added when I recieve an email from a group, how do I stop this? |

Well it is not happening on my computer but my boss is having the problem. He
said it happened when he recieved a group email (our company newsletter) and after that all the people had been added to his address list. Now these are new email address and we do not have all our contacts switched over yet, so having so many in his list is not right. I don't know how to better explain it than that. Version of Outlook? See Help, About if unsure.
Is it in his contact list or in the drop down that displays as he types a name in the to field? That's the nickname cache and is only populated with addresses he sent mail to. See http://www.slipstick.com/problems/nicknamecache.asp If the addresses are in his contacts folder, he has an add-in installed that is adding addresses to his contacts. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Thank you, Diane! This was a great help. I wanted to remove an "auto-added"
nick-name (as you described) and the "Slipstick" link you directed me to showed me how to deal with the *.NK2 (nickname) file that holds the info. Thanks again! |
