Default Backward compatibility of distribution lists

Hi,
Most of the people in our organisation now use Outlook 2007 but due to the
nature and locations of our business (some people at various hospitals
throughout the state), some still use Outlook 2003 and some even use
Netscape. We have a number of distribution lists that are used and updated
regularly by a staff member using Outlook 2007. When she sends them out to
the staff, those that have an earlier version get an empty list and those
with Netscape cannot open them. Is there a way to convert the lists to be
compatible with any email program or at least just Outlook 2003? We are all
running on Windows XP so there is some compatibility but we are not all on
the same network.
Please help,

It needs to be sent as plain text to work in Netscape. Open the DL - the
send button expands to offer 'in internet format' and 'in outlook format' -
choose internet format.

Thanks for that Diane. That part works great. The only thing is I can't get
the text file to save back as a distribution list now. I've tried various
methods using Import ans Export but it's not working for me.
Any advice?
