Default Grey box with contacts, no address book

Hi, first time here so please be kind if I don't ask this correctly. I have
searched your forum to no avail. I have Windows Vista, Outlook 2007 on my
new computer. All of my contacts are present but when I try to select
them(as I read in many other posts) to show this folder as an email address
book the book is grayed out and I am unable to select. I am not the most
computer savy' but is there a way I can fix this?

I appreciate your time and effort to help me.

This is a frequent problem we've seen in Outlook 2007 when users migrate
their data incorrectly to a new installation. How did you do that?

If you are using Outlook 2007 and the the checkbox is grayed, you'll need to
make a new profile as you can't add the Outlook Address Book service due to
a bug.

Actually, you can add the service if it's never been added before. You just
can't remove a corrupt service to repair it.

I transferred my info with the transfer cord Dell provided with our new
computer. I also looked at that tabbed section Vince asked about and it
listed and Outlook adress book and a moblie address book.

How would I create a new profile? And what exactly do you mean by new
profile?

A new profile often fixes problems. See
http://www.slipstick.com/Tutorials/profile/profile.htm for the steps used to
create a new profile.
