MS Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5606) Hello, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to using MSO 2003, please forgive me if my questions seem rather naive. I would like to ask the members for some basic assistance, I had a requirement for a simple PIM and communications database for my customers and decided to use the Contacts facility within MS Outlook 2003 for the purpose, I repair and sell watches and straps ( I'm retired and it keeps me busy), with this in mind I designed and published a Contacts 'form' within MSO 2003, a process which took me quite a long time, however my requirement was for something very simple and it was quite a pleasure to rise to the challenge of accomplishing what I wanted......please see attached screenshot....which shows the basic form. I've been using it successfully integrated with Skype for about the past 8 months and have created around 500 Contacts...or...( items) using "My Form". Recently my PC was infected with the 'AntiVirus XP2008" trojan / virus, which hi-jacked my Task Manager, Regedit and File Search functions, I've used virtually every available AV / Spyware / AdAware program and have been moderately successful with removing it, however one or two constantly annoying items remain which I could remove manually if I could access the registry but the virus / trojan program and my limited knowledge is preventing me from doing so, therefore I've admitted defeat and decided on a re-format with an upgrade to MS Office 2007 My questions are. A) Can I ?.... and how do I backup the 'form...My Form' that I created along with all the data (500+ contacts or 'items' ) for re-installing on the new MSO 2007 that I intend upgrading to once the format is completed ? B) I have a laptop that I use when travelling, can I backup 'My Form' and export it somehow to the laptop as a simple 'synchronisation' process..so that I can browse the form when not at my main PC ? Thank you in advance for any assistance that may be rendered. PS..please bear in mind that I am a silver surfer and not a developer of sorts, however I do like a challenge, it keeps my synapses firing. regards Eisenheim ![]() |

Assuming that you are not using Exchange as your mail server, your contacts
and all other Outlook data, plus the form definition, are stored in your .pst file. See File | Data File Management for its location. If you copy that file to the new machine, you'll have it all. Just make sure you use that .pst file as the default store for the profile on the new machine. You can also use the File | Save As command to save a backup copy of your form as an .oft file. I recommend strongly that you get into the habit of doing this whenever you make design changes. I have crossposted this response to the microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms newsgroup, which is more appropriate for these issues. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming: Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "EISENHEIM" wrote: OS =WINDOWS XP MS OUTLOOK 2003 (11.5608.5606) Hello, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to using MSO 2003, please forgive me if my questions seem rather naive.
