Default Upgrade to Outlook 2007, NO address book , Contact OK

Upgraded to Outlook 2007 from Outlook 2000.
Imported all contact files but have no address book entries.
When I send a New Message, and press the "to" - Outlook 2007 brings up an
empty address book.
I can't seem to direct it to my contacts.
If I begin to enter a name, it completes the name, but I can't pull up a
list and "choose" the sendees like I did in my previous version of Outlook.

I know the Adress Book is pasee, so why do they still have it as an icon on
"names" section of the toolbar.??

That's because you imported, which is always something you should never do
to transfer data from one Outlook version to another.

You must include the Outlook Address Book service in your mail profile. If
it's already there and you cannot remove it and re-add it, then you'll need
to start with a new mail profile.

It's not "passé". The "Personal Address Book" is defunct, but the "Outlook
Address Book" service is required to map contact data to mail address data.

Default Upgrade to Outlook 2007, address book option in contacts propertie

In Addition: searched old messages, answer was to right click Contacts
folderProperties Outlook Address Book Tab click "show folder as address
book....."
Well the Show folder is greyed out and I can't choose it.
Any suggestions?

Thank you Brian.
It's all working now. I set up the service as suggested.
How do you prefer to transfer contact info into a new Outlook. (rather than
"import")

When you create the mail profile for the new version, you just point it at
the existing PST.
