I installed Office 2003 on my new Vista machine and used teh transfer utility
to preserve settings and data. When I select Contacts, all of my contacts appear. When I try to select TO, CC or BCC the contacts window comes up blank. I tried going to properties for the contacts folder to set it as an address book, but that is not permitted (greyed out). When I go to tools -- email accounts -- view or change existing directories or address books, Outlook Address Book appears as type MAPI. If I select change, I am shown a window indicating that I have no address books. How can I get my Contacts from the outlook.pst file to appear as an address book? |

Posted here countless times. You cannot use Windows Easy Transfer with
Outlook. Your profile is corrupt. You must create a new Outlook profile and use the supported method for migrating your data file: Open the file in your new profile and designate it as your default. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ross_R" wrote in message ... Russ - I uninstalled and re-installed Outlook and manyally copied my
outlook.pst file over. I can see the contacts in the contacts view but still cannot see any address book entries, not can I add one as I get a message saying that the account is not fully configured. This is Outlook 2003. Where do I need to go or what do I need to change to resolve this? "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Posted here countless times. Russ - never mind. I figured it out. Thank you for pointing me in the right
direction. Ross "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Posted here countless times. You cannot use Windows Easy Transfer with Outlook. Your profile is corrupt. That simply means you haven't finished configuring your Outlook profile.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook does nothing to help. Just make sure you have fully configured your mail accounts, opened your previous data file correctly and designated it as your default, restarted Outlook, and configured your Outlook Address Book Service. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ross_R" wrote in message ...
