Default TO RUSS VALENTINE DISTRIBUTION LIST

Russ,

I am the fellow who posted a question a few days ago about distribution
lists that were NOT stored inside the contacts folders. I wrote that I had
created two that I could see in the Navigation Pane, but that I couldn't
figure out how I did it and wanted to know because it was very useful to me
at work. You wrote back that no one on your end knew how.

I managed to figure it out:

1. Click Contacts in the Nav. Pane.
2. Select "Contacts" under "My Contacts."
3. "New" drop down menu, select "Folder." This creates a new folder that
will be seen whenever the Navigation Pane is opened with "Contacts" (that is,
the Contacts button at the bottom of the Nav. Pane, with "Mail," "Calendar,"
etc.)
4. Click on the new folder. It opens with this message:

There are no items to show in this view.
Dbl-click here to create a new Contact.

5. Do NOT dbl-click; RIGHT CLICK. The option comes up to make this new
folder a DL. Choose DL, and the new folder becomes a DL outside the Contacts
folder in My Contacts and is visible every time you open Contacts in the Nav.
Pane.

This is very useful for someone like me, who needs to create many temporary
DL lists that need updating frequently before ultimately discarding.

Best wishes,
--
William
