Default Nickname field in Outlook 2003

Is there a way to make this field not required?

Default Nickname field in Outlook 2003

Outlook has given nicknames to all my contacts. Now when I sync my Motorola Q
the nicknames appear in () embeded in the names of each contact.

When I try to delete the nicknames Outlook tells me that it is a required
field.

Make sense?

Are you perhaps referring to the "Email Display As" field? The nickname
field is most certainly not a required field.
Synchronization problems are not Outlook problems. Whoever wrote your synch
software appears to have done a bad job. Contact them for support.
