I am currently using Outlook 2003 with Exchange server on SBS 2003.
I have configured my distribution list to include a MAPI connection to outlook contacts. I have selected "include as email list" under the contacts in Outlook. Up until about a week or two ago (I cannot recall any specific update/upgrade that occurred, but I have not run through the hotfix list to see if Microsoft added anything) my send fax address book worked fine. It would pull up all my contacts with either an email or fax number. Well, I went to send a fax a day or two ago and the only contacts listed are those with an email address. I selected the contact I wished to fax, and it appropriately picked up the fax number and sent the fax . My trouble is, some of my contacts do not have an email address and therefore are not showing. How do I correct this, and any thoughts on why it occurred in the first place? Thanks. |

Have you tried resetting your Outlook Address Book service?

Not sure if I actually reset it, but I did select under the contacts to no
longer use it as an email address book, rebooted, and turned it back on. Did not help. I have also selected to "remove offline content". Lost my contacts for a while, came back, but did not fix the problem. I have not tried the repair function in Outlook. Any suggestions for my next step? Thank you. Remove the service. Restart Outlook. Add it back.

Sorry, it never actually describes an error, it just does not show the fax
numbers. There are no error reports, pop-up boxes, etc. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: What exactly is this error? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Brian" wrote in message ... I see. The requirements for the Fax Service to use your Outlook Contacts
a 1. Outlook must be your default mail transport and Contact manager. 2. You must have the Outlook Address Book configured correctly in your Outlook default profile and connected correctly to the Contacts Folder you want to use. 3. That Contacts Folder must contain valid, resolved fax addresses. As long as all 3 are true, it will work. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Brian" wrote in message ... Well, I double checked all of the things listed, but it still will not show
Fax numbers. Any address that has an SMTP listing will show, and then it will resolve the fax number, but if no email is listed in the contact, it is not shown in the list. The fax numbers are not shown either, just SMTP numbers. One error did come up, when I switched to All address books under "Show Names from the:" box, it gives an error: "The address list could not be displayed. The operation cannot be performed because the connection to the server is offline.". However, in the lower right corner of OUtlook it says "All folders are up to date. Connected". Any other thoughts?
