I have created a custom Contacts Form and saved it in my Personal Forms
Library, and it is also the default Form when I create a new Contact. Now I want to change all the old Contacts to now show my new Form, and I understand I need to change its Message Class from IPM.Contacts to IPM.Contacts.My Design where "My Design" is the name of my new Form. I've run "DocMessageClass" Version 1.0 - whilst it change the class to my new form, when I click an old contact, the new form does not show. Any hints please? |

You can try the tool "EditContacts":
http://www.marchert.de/software.html#ec It`s still a beta version but should work fine. English help is not avaiable at this time however. To change the message class select on the tab "Settings" the checkbox "All" and then select the filed "Message Class". Now a hint appears to confirm reading all existing message classes in Outlook. After that you can choose in the lists your desiered message class and replace or overwrite the existing class. Thanks for this tool - yet the contacts still open using an old form. Is
it possible that I have created 2 forms, called the same name, and I'm not overwriting with the correct one? Where are these forms stored? I gather my "special" ones should be in the Personal Forms Library. Is this so? And, how can I delete any forms I have created, that I no longer use? I`m not the forms specialist :-) This should be possible if the forms are published in different places. EditContacts searches the personal forms library and reads the message classes of all contacts and folders. Theese should be listed in the replace and/or overwrite box. I now checked this and on an virtual with english outlook and it seems this works not correctly. My test form I published in the personal forms library is not listed. Is your custom form "IPM.Contact.MyDesign" listed? Where are these forms stored? I gather my "special" ones should be in the Personal Forms Library. Is this so? And, how can I delete any forms I have created, that I no longer use? You can manage the forms by "Tools", "Options...", "Other", "Advanced Options", "Custom Forms", "Manage Forms..." The Message Clsses change yet my forms don't appear to be changing! I'm going to get some 3rd party assistance - some-one who can sit in front of my machine to help - that should work! Thanks for your help though! |
