I would like to know how to add just one address at a time to Outlook from
Word. (I think this is what the John means too). For instance when you are typing a letter to a new contact it would be quicker if you were able to type the letter and then export the name and address as a contact to Outlook, rather than enter into Outlook first and import the address into Word. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: That would depend on the format of the addresses. You would need to save them to a file format that Outlook can import, such as CSV. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "John Liddell" John wrote in message ... ![]() I think we are at cross purposes. Of course I wouldn't choose to add a contact via Word as a general rule but sometimes in a busy office situation you are faced with typing stacks of letters, sometimes to new people who are not in your list of Contacts and it would be conveninet to right click on the name and address in the Word letter and add it as a new Contact to Outlook, rather than move from Word to Outlook to add the details and then import them back into Word for the letter. Do you see what I am getting at? "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: You aren't typing a letter to a Contact if the Contact doesn't exist. If we know we want to save an address, most of us just add it to Outlook first. How is it quicker to add it to Word first? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sue Manning-Jones" Sue wrote in message ... Sure. Option already exists.
Hover over a name and address you type in Word. Click on the Smart Tag Add to Contacts... -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sue Manning-Jones" wrote in message news ![]() I think we are at cross purposes. ![]() This doesn't work for me. The only bit of the name and address that is underlined as a smart tag is the street name and this is the only thing that is added to Contacts. Have I got this set up wrong? "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Sure. Option already exists. Hover over a name and address you type in Word. For me the entire address is added to Contacts. All I have to do is type in
the name. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sue Manning-Jones" wrote in message ... This doesn't work for me.
