Default Why are some email addresses not accepted by my address book?

I ran "detect and repair" recently on Outlook. I must have checked something
that resulted in erasing all my notes and email addresses and contacts. When
I attempt to add some contacts back, the email address appears when I type
the first letter, but disappears from the window after I hit enter and move
the cursor. It also doesn't show up in the contact information. On the
Outlook Address Book, a () appears instead of the email address.
