catagories don't show up in contacts
Outlook-2003 When I choose categories, all I get is a phone list,--no
catagories.

What do you mean by "choose categories"? What are you trying to accomplish?

I have my contact designation with a yearly catogory, that is this contact did business with me in 2006--that contact was in 2003, that one did business with me in 2007. When I choose the catagories view, all that comes up is the Phone list.

There is no "catagories view" unless you created a view named "catagories." Are you referring to the view named "By Category"? You can reset any view to its original settings: View | Arrange By | Current View | Define Views | Reset.
