Not an Outlook question. Outlook uses the Windows dialer. Consult an OS
group about how to create and use dialing rules. Better yet, search the Internet. This information is widely available. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "James" wrote in message ... Thank you,Russ. But I think, regardless of the dialing rules, the way must be
pre-defined to enter the extension number in the phone number box on the Outlook contact form, e.g. a letter "w" for an outside line,a comma "," for a pause, and what for the extension number? You can define an extension any way you please in the phone number field of the COntact form. The problem is that the Windows dialer has no provision for controlling a voice modem, so adding modem commands to the phone number is pointless. The Windows dialer expects another modem to answer. -- Brian Tillman |
